Q. Are you interested in working within the game industry? (Answer!)
A. No, the pay is shit and the hours are long.
Q. How do you feel about playing characters of the opposite sex? (Answer!)
A. Doesn't matter. I'm not a warrior/mesmer/red-haired person/undead/tauren/whatever in real life either, so why make such a big issue out of the character's gender. Pimply teens need to go beat their meat to someone else's avatar.
Q. Do you feel relationships within games are meaningful? (Answer!)
A. If the only thing you have in common with someone is that you play the same computer game, it is a fragile relationship, and unlikely to develop into a strong long term friendship.
Q. What sort of players annoy you the most? (Answer!)
A. Players that provably suck at something who feel like their opinion is worth a shit. For example, WoW players with shitty arena ratings writing essays about how to rebalance classes the game.</p><p >If you are rated under 1700, it's not because of gear, class, spec, teammates, warlocks being imbalanced, being a casual player, or anything else; it's because you're bad.
Q. What do your characters and avatars usually look like? (Answer!)
A. My warriors are always male and as large as possible, so that they are more inviting target, and my teammates can hide behind me. My support casters as as small as possible, so that they are least visible.
Q. How do you feel about selling virtual items for real money? (Do NOT advertise RMT services!) (Answer!)
A. I have more money than time, so RMT is a useful service.
Q. Have you ever had a memorable real-life meeting with other gamers? (Answer!)
A. I attended an mmo friend's wedding.
Q. If you could cancel any online game, which would it be? (Answer!)
A. World of Warcraft - not because it's a bad game (it is in many ways a great one, that brings entertainment to millions), but because the industry could use a shakeup. WoW has become this giant walled garden, and I'm concerned that other viable games coming out may not get off the ground due to the WoW effect.</p><p >Part of this is because mmos, like IM services, are "sticky" -- they have a switching cost in that unless your entire guild moves at once, you lose all of your online friends.
Q. What is the most memorable flamewar you can remember? (Answer!)
A. The best flamewar was when we kicked a bunch of idiots out of the guild a couple of years ago. These guys had long since quit playing any games the guild was involved with, but one of them spent his time running his mouth on various forums posting stupid shit, and the band of lackeys came to his defense when we told him to stop making the guild look bad. Since they didn't actually play any games, they spent their time on IRC plotting and bitching.</p><p >It was epic lulz when one of these guys used the webmaster's password to fuck up the forums, which made up the mind of the few remaining people in the guild who didn't already think they were a bunch of douchebags.</p><p >Ultimately they found out what happens when people who wield the actual power in the guild decide to put the hammer down, and after starting an amusing whinefest of a thread, the rest of the guild said "gtfo", and the cabal were all flushed out of the guild like a pile of smelly steaming poo.
Q. If you made your own game, what would it be like? (Answer!)
A. It would have Guild Wars' skill and class system, graphics, and insta-creatable max-level/geared PvP characters. It would have AC1 Darktide style world PvP, with player housing. It would have Age of Conan style keeps and sieges. It would have WoW-quality raids for PvE. No consumables in PvP. No stealth classes.</p><p >If your guild completed hard PvE content, it would unlock skins/cape trims/guild halls/mount types/etc. for all players in the guild. If your guild had a high PvP ranking, it would unlock various other skins/trims/etc., some PvE skils even, to provide some PvE advantage also. This would provide some connection between PvP and PvE players the same guild, and make it feel like more of a community.</p><p >There would be a world map showing which guilds currently controlled which areas.
Q. Beside GamerDNA, what are your favorite websites? (Answer!)
A. <a href="http://globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com/<br>http://thehousingbubbleblog.com/index.html<br>http://www.peakoil.com<br>http://www.fohguild.org/forums/mmorpg-general-discussion/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com/<br>http://thehousingbubbleblog.com/index.html<br>http://www.peakoil.com<br>http://www.fohguild.org/forums/mmorpg-general-discussion/</a> for all the latest mmo gossip.
Q. Why do you join guilds or clans? (Answer!)
A. You can't accomplish much alone in these games, and the lack of human interaction in any competitive game is unsatisfying.
Q. What are your thoughts on player-made mods/addons for games? (Answer!)
A. I'm not a fan of mods. I prefer if the default UI is functional and looks good (e.g. Guild Wars), rather than UI programming becoming this huge deal as in WoW.
A. Yes, and I have a microphone
Q. What sort of tools (calculators, builders, spreadsheets, etc.) do you use to plan your characters? (Answer!)
A. Talent/skill point tree calculators if available.</p><p >For calculating health healed per mana and damage per mana, I just use calc.exe and notepad.
Q. If you could bring any book, movie or comic to life in a game, which would you choose? (Answer!)
A. The Last Legends of Earth
Q. What music do you like to play games to? (Answer!)
A. I usually love the in-game music. Guild Wars has by far the best (Jeremy Soule ftw), but WoW's is pretty good also.
Q. How many hours a week do you play? (Answer!)
Q. What are the proper uses of tank guns and bubblegum? (Answer!)
A. Coat the ground with extra sticky bubblegum. Person gets foot stuck in said bubblegum. Aim tank gun at them, they can't move. Blow them away. /laugh /spit.
Q. What are the specs on your gaming rig? (Answer!)
A. AMD 4800+ Dual Core, 2 GB RAM, WD 150GB Raptor, Dell 30" 3007WFP LCD, Radeon 1900XT
Q. Other than your console or PC, what is the piece of hardware you can't live without? (Answer!)
Q. In real life, are you male or female? (Answer!)
Q. Have you ever had a romantic encounter with someone you met in a game? (Answer!)
A. No, that would be weird.
Q. What are your thoughts on roleplaying in games? (Answer!)
A. I don't roleplay, but I've seen other people do it well, although usually in an ironic sense.
Q. What question would you add to the Attitudes system? (Answer!)
A. In terms of pvp ability, what percentile do you think you are in? In terms of intelligence, what percentile do you think you are in?</p><p >Then collate the results across everyone who answered, and proceed to laugh.
Q. Do your quiz results on GamerDNA reflect your personality, and if not, what did it get wrong? (Answer!)
A. Almost none of these questions reflect much on personality.

Q. What experience do you have beta-testing games? (Answer!)
